I’m a freelance writer based in Central Florida (formerly Arizona and Colorado), offering services in content writing, articles, transcription, editing, creative writing, game writing, and screenwriting. Most recently, I served as an ongoing contributor to ThemeParkTourist.com, writing over 250 articles about Disney parks and Florida tourism. Other well-known clients I have written for include The Write Life, Relevant Magazine, and ProductionHub,
I have strong experience with travel features, humor pieces, articles offering creative hacks for productivity and travel, and content that takes a close and thoughtful look at challenging subjects (such as the aftermath of the Aurora theater shooting or examining the difficulties faced by theme park workers and flight attendants following the 2020 pandemic).
Some of my areas of expertise include:
•Writing & Productivity Advice – I’ve developed a good eye for tips, hacks, and other tricks to aid in productivity, particularly for writers. Some areas of focus include apps that aid in productivity and creativity, timeboxing techniques, lifehacks, and maintaining balance as a working mom. This piece I wrote for The Write Life gives a good example of what I can offer in this category.
•Travel Writing – I have written over 250 articles about Florida theme parks like Walt Disney World. Other travel spots I am familiar with include Colorado, Arizona, West Texas, Hawaii, Asheville, Chattanooga, New Mexico, California, and more.
•Film / TV Production – I have two degrees in film and television production, and I worked on professional production crews for over a decade. Some of my clients included High Noon Entertainment (where I worked on shows like Cake Boss, Prospectors, and Food Network Challenge), American Idol, Jeep/Chrysler/Dodge, Range Rover, WD-40, Audi, NHL, Chevy, MTV, and more. I also worked on several feature films, including Roland Emmerich’s The Day After Tomorrow.
•Creative Writing – I have a deep love for storytelling, and I have experience writing fiction and scripts. My screenplay, Persephone, won an honorable mention in Writer’s Digest’s Annual Writing Contest.
•Literature and Pop Culture – I have in-depth familiarity with several major fandoms including Star Wars, Lost, Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere, the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, and other similar niches. I also have some experience with the HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) swordfighting community.
•Christianity and Biblical Studies – I have over fourteen years experience serving as a Student and Worship Pastor. In Denver, my husband and I dedicated five years to working with the Bhutanese-Nepali refugee community, in particular mentoring teenagers. In Central Florida, I serve full time helping to oversee our youth, worship, and discipleship ministries. I have a very strong foundation in Biblical studies, and I currently help edit curriculums and participate in teach in-depth discipleship groups for both our teens and young adults. I love approaching difficult questions related to the Bible and Christianity with a fresh perspective, and I also have experience with missions in Uganda, Africa. I am ordained as a pastor through Harvest Church and licensed through PrayTell Ministries.
•Motherhood – I recently have started writing content related to the challenges of motherhood, particularly in the baby and toddler years. I offer the unique perspective both of having worked with many mothers as a pastor, but more specifically, my experience with my daughter’s difficult entry into the world. Through that experience, I have gained much insight into overcoming many challenges, such as when baby starts in the NICU, options for women who face overwhelming challenges nursing, baby-wearing, traveling with an infant or toddler, and tips for balancing motherhood with full time or remote work.
